Stand Up Comedy Classes
You hear your name called and you know that it’s your time to shine.
You walk on stage and confidently take the microphone. There’s an entire room full of people and it is your job to make them laugh with nothing more than the ideas you had in your head and the jokes you wrote.
For some people, this would be a nightmare…but for you, because you’ve learned the skills necessary to succeed when you took the Beginning Stand-Up Comedy Class, this is a dream that you’re making come true. There are three class sessions and then a performance at Laffs Comedy Caffe. This is something you’ve always wanted to do…it is something you CAN do…and it’s a lot of fun to learn HOW to do it!
A total of four sessions (3 classes and a live performance) will be held Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:30pm at Laffs.

“Ron Reid’s Stand-Up Comedy Class is something I would highly recommend! It’s an immersive experience into the world of stand-up comedy, from the theory and creation of comedy material, to practical stage technique and etiquette, to workshopping material, to open mic experience, to learning to give and receive feedback, to performance in an actual comedy club. Ron’s extensive knowledge and obvious love and respect for the art of stand-up comedy was apparent and generously shared every time he got up to teach and facilitate.
An added special bonus was his inclusion of guest professional comedians who gave insightful and supportive feedback, offered their own experiential tips, enthusiastically answered questions, and even performed with us! Ron said his main hope was that it would be a fun experience, and it was! You won’t find a better value for your money. This class is the real deal, because Mr. Reid is the real deal. If you have a desire to give stand-up a try, Ron Reid is the man to help you do it!” – David Mielke
"There were 12 brave souls, six men and six women, from all walks of life in my comedy class. We represented all ages from early 20s to 70 plus. By the 4th week of class, each of us had created and polished 6 minutes of stand-up comedy material. Our last class was on stage at The Laughs Comedy Spot, an upscale comedy club in Kirkland, Washington. We performed our first stand-up comedy in front of 125 people. The next morning I got busy and updated my resume’. It reads: Businessman – 25 years. Deputy Sheriff – 23 years. Stand-up comic – 6 minutes. The students and the audience all had fun. We laughed. We clapped and we laughed some more. It certainly was a different life experience. I can now say I went where guys like Lewis Black, Jerry Seinfeld, Mitch Hedberg and George Carlin have been. They all started, like me, with their first night on stage.” - Joseph Boyle
